1. October 22nd Mussolini brought his black shirt followers and they marched to Rome. President invited Mussolini to become prime minister

 

2. He creates a totalitarian state





• He makes himself a dictator by having absolute power
• Creates a totalitarian state
• Passes a Acerbo law to get rid of parliament
  
•  He sets up a secret police called the ovra

3. He controls the economy

• Promises jobs by creating a corporate state
• Creates lots of public jobs to build motorways and schools
• The pontine marches around Rome were drained and turned into wheat fields

  

4. Introduced young people

• Brainwashed the young to love him by calling him "Il Duce"
• Mussolini's picture was put in every school and the national schools was sung

Secondary school girls joined the "order of the she wolf" and boys joined "Ballila" and "aranghardiss" for army training

5.  Mussolini made a deal with the pope called the "Lateran Treaty" in 1929 in which he gave the pope the Vatican city in turn of Catholic support
